Since 1980, Dr. Teykl has actively taught and preached on one topic – evangelism. He wants to see the local church mobilized to pray and win the lost for Christ. Dr. Teykl started Aldersgate United Methodist church with only eight people who were committed to praying. Over 16 years that church had 5000 professions of faith! He firmly believes in prayer-evangelism as a working principle for church growth.
